I have a facination with food and the way it is presented to people. Photographing food started out as a hobby for me. I took that hobby one step further and actually did a few jobs for several clients between 2005 and 2006. Some of these clients still have pictures I took on their Menus and back-lit displays over the counters. Notable amungs these are

Strabag

Since September 2004, I have been closely associated with advertising and corporate branding for Strabag Middle East. Strabag is one of the most successful building construction companies in Europe. They have close to 80,000 staff in over 25 countries. Their branding requirements ranged from advertising in magazines to production of large signage on tower cranes. So far I have produced over three hundred separate jobs for this very demanding European client. Strabag has a well written style manual which specifies exactly how the logo should be represented in various formats. This style manual was helpful in implementing their corporate standards across four site offices in the UAE.

Business Stationery for more than 200 individuals.

Since the designations and locations keep changing within four different site offices, a separate software was written to handle the production of the business cards. This database of all the individuals had their designations in both English and Arabic. The turn around time to get the approval was reduced to less than 15 minutes for each request. I have also supplied them all application forms, letterheads and print material.

Flags

Strabag has a logo that is represented vertically, 1m by 3m. The client wanted these flags positioned at several enterances to their site office. This was easier said than done. Since their site, a 100 villas in the middle of the desert, was exposed to the occasional sand storms. The desert sand acted as an abrasive, would literally sand-blast the flag material within days. So the challenge was to produce a Flag that would survive at least three months without ripping. After a few trials a material and fade resistant ink was found.

Interior

The reception area for Strabag was re-designed in solid wood furniture (not MDF!) and a CNC cut signage on the right wall. Plenty of overhead storage space was provided sparing enough room for a receptionist and an assistant to work comfortably. The waiting area had two smart arm chairs as well.

Photography

Several of their sites were to be photographed over the entire construction period. These were to be used in progress reports.
There was also requirement to produce high resolution panoramic photography for various reports and PR activities. These shots were produced to highlite the lateral scale of the project.

Shirts, Stickers

Embroidered shirts, workers coveralls, safety signs and stickers of various sizes (ranging from 3 meters to 3 centimeters) were also produced.
